- Use this as a station or small-group activity during a unit on ancient Hebrew history, or as a whole-class warm-up before reading a related text.
- Discussion question: How is a 'major migration' like the Exodus different from an ordinary move, and what examples from history or today would fit the definition?
- Scaffold for struggling readers: Pre-teach the terms with a word bank or pictures, and have students complete one row per term with a partner before working independently.
- Extension for advanced students: Ask them to compare the exodus and the diaspora as two patterns of displacement, using evidence from their Non-Examples sections.
- Estimated time: About 45 minutes for the full packet, or roughly 5 minutes per term when used across a longer lesson sequence.
