3-2-1 Article Reflection for Seventh Grade
A one-page reflection organizer in which 7th graders name three key facts, two interesting details, and one remaining question after reading an assigned article. It builds summarizing, close-reading, and inquiry skills, and works well as a short exit ticket or a 15-20 minute post-reading task.

Teacher Guide & Tips
- Use this right after students finish an assigned informational article, either as an independent exit ticket or as a quick written check before a class discussion.
- Discussion question: Which of your three facts would you choose if you could only keep one, and why?
- Scaffold for struggling readers: Allow them to reread the article's headings and first sentence of each section, and offer a sentence starter such as "The article says..." for the key facts.
- Extension for advanced students: Ask them to connect their remaining question to a second source or to propose how they would research the answer.
- Estimated time: About 15-20 minutes, depending on how many lines students write per response.
