Teacher Guide & Tips
- Run this as a small-group station rotation during a 45 to 60 minute literacy block, with about 10 minutes per station so each group can move through all three letters.
- Discussion question: What do you notice about the sound at the beginning of nut, and what other words start with /n/ the same way?
- Scaffold for struggling readers: Have them trace the letter in the air or on the table with a finger while saying the sound, and use the sound card as a visual anchor before writing on paper.
- Extension for advanced students: Ask them to think of two or three words for each letter and sort them by beginning sound, or to write the letter in a short sentence.
- Estimated time: About 10 minutes per station, plus 5 minutes for transitions and a brief whole-group wrap-up.
