Five Legal Systems Stations
This 5-station packet helps high school business law students actively learn about the five types of legal systems. Students will rotate through stations, engaging with content independently to build understanding of each system.
“My high school business law students will be learning about the five types of legal systems. I have attached my slideshow with the five legal systems and descriptions of each. Rather than just passively giving students notes, I want them to visit five stations and learn about each legal system on their own. Can you please create five stations, one for each legal system, where students will actively learn about each on their own?”
Teacher Guide & Tips
- Use as a station rotation activity for a 1-2 class period block.
- Discussion question: Which legal system do you think is most effective for resolving business disputes and why?
- Scaffold for struggling learners: Provide a graphic organizer with key terms and definitions for each station.
- Extension for advanced learners: Have students research a current event and analyze how it would be handled under two different legal systems.
- Estimated time: 90-120 minutes.
