Ratios and Rates Review Slides for 6th Grade
A projectable slide deck that turns a Chapter 1 study guide into one question per slide, with speaker notes, covering ratios, rates, and least common multiples. It is built for a whole-class review block where students solve each problem on scratch paper and then compare reasoning with a partner.
“Can you turn this study guide into a google slides with one question per slide? I want to project them questions for the review.”
Teacher Guide & Tips
- Project one slide at a time during a 30 to 45 minute review, pausing after each question so students can work on scratch paper before you walk through the steps together.
- Discussion question: How did you decide which quantities to compare when writing the ratio, and how did you check that your rate has the correct units?
- Scaffold for struggling readers: Pair them with a confident partner, provide a ratio table or a list of key vocabulary terms, and have them talk through each step aloud before writing.
- Extension for advanced students: Ask them to create their own word problem involving a rate and a least common multiple, then swap with a partner to solve.
- Time estimate: Allow about 1 to 2 minutes per question, plus a few minutes at the start for the review instructions shown on the second slide.
